How to report copyright infringement relating to a listing on XSITES, and how we respond.

XSITES respects intellectual property rights and responds to properly submitted notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

What we can and cannot remove

XSITES hosts no video, image or audio content. We publish editorial reviews, category listings and hyperlinks.

That distinction determines what a notice to us can achieve:

  • We cannot remove content from a third-party website. Only the operator of that site can do that, and a notice sent to us will not reach them.
  • We can remove a listing from this directory. If a website is distributing your work without a licence, we will delist it so that we stop sending traffic to it.

If your goal is removal of the material itself, send your notice to the host of that material. If your goal is to stop this directory linking to it, send it to us.

How to file a notice

Send a written notice to dmca@xsites.network containing all of the following:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are covered by a single notice, a representative list.
  2. The exact URL on xsites.network where the offending listing appears.
  3. The URL of the third-party site distributing the material, and where on it the material appears.
  4. Your contact details: full name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
  7. Your physical or electronic signature.

A notice missing any of these items is incomplete and will be returned rather than actioned. That is not obstruction — an incomplete notice does not carry the legal effect that makes us able to act on it.

Response time

We aim to review complete notices within five business days of receipt. Where a notice is clear and complete, delisting usually happens sooner.

Counter-notice

If a listing was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you may submit a counter-notice to the same address containing:

  1. Identification of the listing that was removed and the URL where it appeared.
  2. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the listing was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  3. Your name, postal address and telephone number.
  4. A statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and to accept service of process from the party who submitted the original notice.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat infringers

Sites that are the subject of repeated valid notices are permanently removed from this directory and are not eligible for resubmission.

Misuse of this process

Submitting a knowingly false notice carries liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). We keep a record of every notice received, including notices we decline to act on.

This address handles copyright only. For non-consensual content, content involving a minor, or any other urgent concern, write to contact@xsites.network. Those reports are handled immediately and the listing is suspended while we review.
