What is Kiiroo?
Kiiroo is a Dutch company founded in the mid-2010s, making internet-connected sex toys that synchronise with video content, with VR, and with a second device held by a partner. Its devices are used both for long-distance couples and for content synced to scripted patterns.
It is the closest direct competitor to Lovense, reviewed here.
How does it differ from Lovense?
Two ways worth knowing.
The first is emphasis. Lovense's centre of gravity is the cam-site tipping mechanic — its hardware is the standard for viewer-triggered devices. Kiiroo's is content synchronisation: devices that follow a script encoded alongside a video, and two-way pairing between partners' devices.
The second showed up in measurement. Both companies sell products that generate intimate usage data and require an account. Our scan confirmed a privacy policy and terms of service on Kiiroo's live site, and found neither on Lovense's.
That is not a small difference for this category. It is the specific document a buyer of a connected device needs, and one of the two companies publishes it where a scan can find it.
What did we measure?
A median 475ms response on a 368KB document. Our passes returned 631ms, 475ms and 294ms — a reasonable spread with the warm figures in agreement.
The document declares lang="en", a mobile viewport and claims 1080p. Our scan detected no advertising network and confirmed a privacy policy and terms of service; 2257 and DMCA did not surface and neither applies to a hardware company that publishes no performer content.
Two of four, and the correct two. That is the right compliance result for this kind of business.
Is the hardware good?
Competent, and behind Lovense on polish. Build quality is decent, the silicone is body-safe, and the sync technology works when the content supports it. The app is less refined than its competitor's and the ecosystem of compatible content is smaller.
The interactive-video proposition is genuinely the draw, and it depends entirely on how much scripted content exists for the device — which is a smaller library than the marketing implies.
What are the drawbacks?
The same structural ones as any connected device: an account, app permissions, cloud dependency, and a product whose useful life is bounded by software support. Kiiroo publishes a policy; that tells you the terms, it does not remove the exposure.
Beyond that, price is high for hardware that is a step behind the leader.
Should you buy?
If content synchronisation or two-way partner pairing is what you want, this is the specialist and it documents itself better than its larger rival. If you want the cam-site tipping ecosystem, Lovense is the standard and you would be fighting the current here.
