What is BoyfriendTV?
BoyfriendTV is a free gay video tube running since the late 2000s, carrying user uploads, studio promotional clips and full scenes across a very large catalogue, with the usual tube apparatus of categories, tags, playlists and comments.
It is the biggest free destination in this vertical.
What did the measurement actually show?
A median 342ms on a 500KB document. That combination is unusual enough to be worth stating twice: it is the fastest first-byte time of all fifteen sites in this block, and it is carrying one of the heaviest payloads in it.
Compare within the block. BelAmi, a paid subscription studio, takes a median 3,693ms to serve 85KB — six times as long for a sixth of the payload. Sean Cody serves 1,061KB, twice this page's weight, at a comparable 581ms.
What that spread shows is that page weight and response time are close to unrelated here, and that the one site in this block running infrastructure that handles both well is the free one.
The document declares lang="en", a mobile viewport and claims 8K.
And the compliance record?
The best in this block: 2257 statement, DMCA policy and privacy policy all confirmed on the live site, with only terms not surfacing. Three of four, from the free site, beating eleven of the thirteen paid studios measured alongside it.
Our scan also detected no advertising network in the page source, which for a free tube is genuinely unusual — advertising is how free tubes normally pay for themselves, so either it is served first-party or injected after load, neither of which our scan of the initial HTML would see.
What about the content's provenance?
This is the caveat, and it is the standard one for any tube. A large share of the catalogue is user-uploaded, which means some of it is creators posting their own work, some is studio promotional material posted with permission, and some is re-uploaded commercial content that is there without it.
The site publishes a DMCA policy — which is the mechanism rightsholders use, and it is confirmed present — but a takedown process is a response to the problem, not a solution to it. If paying the people who made what you are watching matters to you, the studios reviewed elsewhere in this block are where that happens.
Should you use it?
As a free tube it is the strongest option in the vertical on every measurement we can take: fastest, best-documented, and largest. Use it knowing that free tubes and licensed studios are different transactions, and that the DMCA policy tells you what the catalogue contains.
