What is Candy.ai?
Candy.ai is an AI companion platform where you create or select a character, define its personality and appearance, and hold an ongoing conversation with persistent memory. Images can be generated in-chat matching the character's established look, and voice messages are supported.
It sits in the AI girlfriend category, which has grown enormously and unevenly since 2023.
How good is the conversation?
Better than most competitors at staying in character over long sessions. Personality settings actually persist, the model remembers earlier conversation rather than resetting, and the responses read as a consistent character instead of a generic assistant wearing a name.
That coherence over time is the hardest thing in this category and the clearest technical differentiator.
How consistent is the image generation?
The strongest feature. Generated images match the character's established appearance across sessions rather than producing a different person each time — which sounds basic and is the thing most competitors get wrong. If a character's look does not persist, the companion premise collapses.
The style is narrow, though. Everything renders in a similar aesthetic, and there is no meaningful way out of it.
Why is this listed when other generators are not?
Because of the line it draws. Generating likenesses of real people is blocked, and uploads of real photographs are refused.
That is the criterion for appearing in this directory at all. Synthetic sexual imagery of real people who did not consent is the same harm as any other non-consensual intimate imagery, and several better-known generators in this space make it their selling point. Those are not listed here and will not be.
How does the site perform?
Our check measured a 378ms response on a 237KB document — quick, with a mobile viewport declared.
Our scan surfaced none of the four compliance documents we look for. On a 237KB page that is a more meaningful gap than on a minimal one, though the site is a JavaScript application and the links may live outside the initial HTML. We record it as unconfirmed rather than absent, and note it as the weakest verification result in this block.
What does it cost?
A subscription with allowances for messages and image generations. The free tier is a demo rather than a usable product, and heavy use runs through the allowance faster than the pricing page suggests.
Is it worth it?
If an AI companion is what you want, it is among the better-built options and it enforces the rule that matters. Go in knowing the image style is narrow and the allowances are finite.
