What is Fanvue?
Fanvue is a creator subscription platform launched at the end of the 2010s, with the standard structure — subscriptions, messaging, pay-per-view media, tipping — and one significant departure: AI-generated personas are permitted as creators, and human creators can use AI to handle direct messages.
It is the platform that decided to let the technology in rather than fight it.
What is actually being sold when the creator is an AI?
A subscription to a persona that does not exist, generated and operated by someone who does. That is not fraud provided it is disclosed, and Fanvue does require AI creators to be labelled — but the disclosure is a badge on a profile, and badges are easy to miss when you are three clicks into a funnel.
The honest framing is that this is closer to Candy.ai, reviewed elsewhere in this directory, than to a creator platform. If you know that going in, fine. The concern is people who do not.
And AI-assisted messaging from real creators?
This is the murkier half. A subscriber paying for direct messages with a specific person, receiving replies generated by a model trained on that person, is buying something materially different from what they think they are buying — and here the disclosure is much weaker than for fully AI personas.
Message access is usually the most expensive thing on these platforms precisely because it is understood as personal contact. Automating it without clear disclosure at the point of purchase is the practice we would most want to see changed.
What did we measure?
A 680ms response on a 122KB document — quick and reasonably light, one of the better results in this block. The document declares lang="en" and a mobile viewport.
Our scan detected no advertising network and confirmed a privacy policy on the live site. 2257, DMCA and terms did not surface; recorded as unconfirmed. One of four is thin for a platform hosting independent uploads and handling payments.
Is there anything genuinely good here?
Yes: the platform itself is well-built, quick, and the payment and delivery mechanics work. For a real creator who wants a modern, fast platform outside the market leader, it is a reasonable choice, and the AI question is one they opt into rather than one imposed on them.
Should you use it?
If you are subscribing to a real creator, it is a competent platform. If you are not certain whether the creator is real, check the badge before you pay — and know that on this platform "real person" and "replies written by a person" are two separate questions.
